Vera Sjunnesson is a writer and director based in Sweden. Originally trained as a video installation artist, she earned an MA at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. In 2018, she graduated with an MFA from the New York University Graduate Film Program, specializing in directing and screenwriting. She was a recipient of the Tisch School of the Arts Department Fellowship as well as grants from Dr. Tech. Marcus Wallenberg Foundation. She has written and directed around ten short films, both fiction and documentary, revolving around themes of sexuality, boundary testing and queerness. She has previously worked with large-scale video installations and set design in a variety of projects.
